For that reason, we want to share a list of the ten most used tools in our Community by all Thinkers around the world. There it goes!
1. Customer Journey Map
This is one of the most famous and used Design Thinking tools. It gets many insights and gives us a clear vision of which parts of the user’s journey are in contact with our service or product and which are the pains or points to improve.
2. Empathy Map
Knowing our user is key to any project, but beyond knowing who he is, and how he is, we should know something much more complex, what he feels. The Empathy Map allows us to get into the mind, body, and soul of our client and discover what their deepest pains are and what gains can we use as levers.
This is, undoubtedly, a “must” in the tools to be used in an innovation project. We can not design and create something new if we do not know how our user is. That is why the Person tool necessarily appears among the first three positions in the list.
4. Stakeholders Map
In order to know how our user is, we must first discover who he is. Stakeholders Map provides an image of all those actors that affect our business so that we can decide on who we are going to act when considering any method of innovation.
5. Five Guys
When we start a project, we wrongly think we know exactly what is the problem that we must attack, but on many occasions, we are not addressing the root of the issue. With the “five whys”, we get to the original cause of the matter we are dealing with, and thus start from a secure base to perform more specific analysis.
6 . In / Out
In Design Thinking, the natural thing is to work as a team with several people aligned in the resolution of a problem. A simple way to get all of them in agreement when it comes to visualizing the limits of the project is through this tool.
7. Diagram of ERAF Systems
Applying this tool, you will have a visual map of flows and relationships between different entities and attributes that make up your company. You will extract insights to identify which are the strong points of the company or the project.
8. Analogs / Antilogues
Another of the top tools of our community is Analogs / Antilogues. With this tool, we can determine what we would like to become and what not. This helps us to channel the direction of our project because if we want to improve, it is necessary to have previous inspiration.
9. Industry Diagnosis
A very important part of the process of any innovation project is to analyze the environment that surrounds your company. With this tool, based on the Porter’s five forces, you will visualize the level of competence in your ecosystem so you can decide where to focus.
Finally, and continuing with the previous tool, we find the Benchmarking, a comparative analysis that studies more thoroughly the competence identified with the Industry Diagnostic to be able to carry out an evaluation of good practices.
